What #HBWeek12 Is All About

This year marks the 12th Anniversary of DJ HeadBussa’s Celebrity Birthday Week benefitting the National Ataxia Foundation. HB Week’s mission is to: Educate, Inspire and Uplift the urban community in Tampa Bay through various outlets such as: Charity Bowling Events, Community events, Volunteer Work, and Entertainment Events.


DJ HeadBussa is an award-winning DJ in the Tampa Bay Area who dedicates his birthday to bring awareness to the NAF as well as educating our communities on how to live healthier lifestyles.


The Dj’s mother was diagnosed with the progressively debilitating disease, Ataxia, 21 years ago and for the past nine years Dj HeadBussa has made it his mission to increase awareness of the disease and aid in finding a cure.


Also, in 2006 DJ HeadBussa himself was diagnosed with a life changing illness, type two diabetes, which he inherited from his father. Since he was diagnosed DJ HeadBussa has spent countless hours educating himself and his family on how to live a fulfilling life while managing the disease.


In 2015 DJ HeadBussa welcomed his third child, Neddroy Jr. Although a joyous time for his family it was also very concerning as Little NJ was born at only 34 weeks. This threw his family into a familiar cycle of self-educating on health issues.


Strike Out Ataxia, the heart of #HBWeek12, will be held on Sunday April 28th at Pin Chasers Veterans in Tampa FL. This event serves to educate the public about Ataxia, a disease that severely impairs parts of the nervous system that impact muscle strength and coordination. The rest of the week will include DJ HeadBussa’s 7th annual Strawhat party, Painting in the Trap, Supply & Demand EP listening party, as well as an exclusive, invite only dinner party. We are estimating an attendance of 1,000 attendees during the week. Past years custom #HBWeek hashtags campaign reached over nine million impressions.
